FAQs
Can I choose any physical therapy clinic for treatment?
Absolutely!
The Patient's Bill of Rights empowers you to select the physical therapy clinic of your choice. You are not obligated to follow a physician's recommendation; no medical practitioner, insurance company, or other entity can force you to attend a specific clinic.
We provide a proactive, results-oriented environment with well-trained, knowledgeable staff. We’re confident that [site-name] will provide the highest quality care to help you achieve your goals.
Can I go to any occupational therapists I choose?
As a patient, you can choose the occupational therapy clinic that best meets your needs and goals. This is known as the "Patient's Bill of Rights," a set of guidelines that outlines your rights and responsibilities as a patient.
It’s essential to choose a clinic with licensed and experienced occupational therapists specializing in your condition or injury. You may also want to consider location, hours of operation, and insurance coverage when choosing a clinic.
At [site-name], we are committed to upholding the Patient's Bill of Rights and providing high-quality, results-oriented care that meets your individual needs and goals. We believe in empowering our patients to participate actively in their treatment and decision-making process.
Our [site-name] occupational therapists keep up to date with the latest research and technology to ensure you’re receiving the best possible care. We’ll work closely with you and your healthcare team to develop a personalized treatment plan that reflects your unique situation and goals.
Whether recovering from an injury or managing a chronic condition, occupational therapy can help you achieve your goals and take the first step toward improving your quality of life.
Can I continue seeing a therapist even when I feel better?
The short answer is–Absolutely! In fact, at [site-name], we actually encourage you to continue seeing your physical therapist even after your symptoms appear to have resolved.
Why? Because often, even though you feel better, you may still not be fully rehabilitated. Furthermore, regular physical therapy can prevent future injury or pain while helping you optimize your overall physical performance and function.
Physical therapy is a comprehensive and ongoing process, not a one-and-done. Even after you’ve completed your initial round of treatment, our therapists can help you develop a personalized maintenance plan that ensures you’re continuing to maximize your potential, even after your recovery.
Here’s an example of maintenance plans that allow you to continue enjoying physical therapy’s many benefits:
- Your therapist assigns you a series of specialized at-home exercises so you can continue to strengthen your muscles and improve your range of motion.
- You come in for a re-evaluation after a month to ensure your home exercise program is working as intended.
- You schedule check-in appointments at regular intervals (such as every six months) to ensure you haven’t regressed and to address any new developments.
Our therapists will also develop a return-to-activity schedule so you can safely return to your favorite sport or workout program without risking reinjury. A return-to-activity schedule involves gradually increasing the intensity of certain movements until you can operate as usual.
The physical therapists at [site-name] are here to help you succeed–even after you’ve completed your treatment. To get started, request an appointment today!
